Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Heard about this bakery and had to try it out. I saw a couple videos on tik tok as well and they mention the long wait times. I went around 9:30 AM and the parking lot was completely packed so I was worried about a long wait. I went inside and there wasn’t a line. The inside is beautifully decorated. I ordered the Tate’s special which was a loaded baked potato style baked bread. It was really good. When I got home, I heated it up for a little bit as the bread was somewhat hard. Next the cardamom peach cobbler and it was absolutely delicious. I spent about $11 for both. I didn’t try their drinks because of a severe food allergy. I will be back for their baked goods however.

My initial review was written a few days after they opened. Also, I unfairly compared this local shop to others that have either won or were considered for James Beard awards. After trying a few more items on their menu, the baked items are good. I like the mix of white chocolate and strawberry icing on their strawberry pistachio white chocolate cookie...soft-baked and made more interesting with the occasional crunch of pistachios. Tiramisu is always satisfying and perfectly pairs with any coffee drink. I've yet to try a breakfast biscuit. I've gotten there a bit too late and that item was sold out. That's the thing...it's been very busy every single time I've been there. The proprietors read it correctly. This area needed a cafe like this and plenty of people wholeheartedly agree.

I went to the location in Rotterdam around Noon. I believe it just opened today. I ordered a cookie and latte. I was told for the latte it would be about a 30 minute wait. I decided against the latte because I had to be somewhere and couldn’t wait. When I told the cashier I didn’t want the latte, she said I would have to wait for the cookie too, even though it was literally 2 feet from her and would have taken 10 seconds to put in a bag and give to me. I understand being busy since they recently opened, but not having a system in place for baked goods only screams inexperience and they ultimately lost my business. I may try again in the future because I really want to support local business. If I have a better experience, I’ll update my review.

Very nice little spot that opened recently. Highly recommend stopping in for breakfast or a bite for lunch. Typically close at 2pm or when they run out of product.
